Woman dies in car accident on way to bachelorette party

A Missouri woman was killed in a fatal car crash as she was traveling to her own bachelorette party on June 20. The woman, age 26, died when she was involved in a crash while the driver of the vehicle in which she was riding attempted to pass another car. The driver of that vehicle, a 26-year-old woman, was not seriously injured in the car accident.

Construction company cited after workplace injury with sewer pipe

A Eureka, Missouri, construction company has received a major reprimand and punishment from the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration after a worker was seriously injured on the job. Official reports show that Gershenson Construction received 11 safety citations after the workplace injury, which occurred when the victim was struck by a sewer pipe. The man fractured a vertebra when he was knocked into a 13-foot trench. The company has been hit with $110,400 in proposed fines.

Driver high on drugs causes fatal Missouri car accident

A 29-year-old Kansas City man has been accused of driving under the influence in a fatal crash that killed an older man who was sitting in his grandson's vehicle alongside Missouri 152. The defendant is facing allegations of possession of a controlled substance and involuntary manslaughter in connection with the case. Authorities say the defendant caused the Feb. 10 car crash because he was speeding and high on prescription drugs.

Wrongful death suit filed for drunken wrong-way car accident

A young driver facing vehicular homicide charges in the death of a Missouri woman is now also the subject of a wrongful death suit. The driver, who was 18 at the time of the 2012 crash, was reportedly driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Ohio when she caused a chain-reaction car accident. That wreck led to the death of a 39-year-old woman and left her friend seriously injured.
